The Role:

The Outreach & Events Executive will work in the Marketing & Outreach Unit within the Communications Division. The role reports to the Outreach & Events Manager. The Marketing & Outreach Unit is responsible for brand and brand management, public awareness campaigns to consumers and businesses, sponsorship, and outreach and engagement activities with the business community to promote compliance. It is also responsible for the CCPCâs attendance at events.


The Marketing & Outreach Unit is a small but effective team with all team members adept at supporting the delivery of the Unitâs wide-ranging responsibilities. The role provides an opportunity to engage proactively with the Irish business community and consumers generally across a range of channels and projects. The Outreach & Events Executive will work on compliance and outreach activities, including developing content and materials such as presentations and booklets, organising CCPC presence at in-person conferences and events, online webinars, and administrative duties.


This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional who is interested in working with a great team in a growing and dynamic organisation. You will make a valuable contribution to the ongoing and important work of the CCPC in making sure markets work well for consumers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Outreach & Events Manager in planning and implementing a calendar of proactive business engagement activities to promote compliance with obligations under consumer rights legislation and competition law.
  • Work with internal stakeholders, including corporate communications and marketing communications, to align and support all activities related to business compliance.
  • Help to identify and build relationships with relevant trade associations, business organisations and other public sector agencies who work with businesses, to explore potential opportunities and channels for content.
  • Help develop and prepare content for a range of channels, including website, written articles and presentations.
  • Support the development and design of business collateral material, including booklets, infographics and videos.
  • Support senior staff to prepare for presentations and speaking engagements.
  • Assist with logistics related to attendance at conferences, exhibitions and events.
  • Reporting regularly on all activity, supporting the Outreach & Events Manager and other colleagues as required.
  • Administrative tasks including raising purchase orders and managing invoices, ensuring proper procedures are adhered to.
  • Administrative support to the Director of Communications including diary management, correspondence.
  • Contribute to the development and achievement of the strategic goals of the organisation generally and divisional objectives by supporting delivery of the annual workplan.

Essential:

  • At least two yearsâ experience in a communications or similar role, ideally with a focus on stakeholder engagement and/or events .
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Good interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work on parallel projects within tight time frames.
  • Intermediate PC skills including PowerPoint


Desirable:

  • Qualification in a relevant field such as communications, marketing etc.
  • Experience with Slido or similar and/or graphic design experience.
  •   Experience developing marketing collateral (booklets, infographics, video etc)
  •  Experience managing diaries and schedules.
  • Experience in event organisation.
  •  Experience working with, or an interest in, public service.
  • Full driverâs licence.
