Dublin, Dublin City, Ireland Goal Global Full time

GOAL has an excellent opportunity for an experienced fundraising professional to join our fundraising team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. We are keen to hear from individuals with a background in public fundraising, corporate partnerships, event management, and team development who want to work for a progressive, purpose-driven organisation.

About Us

GOAL has responded to the world's major humanitarian crises since its founding in 1977, working with vulnerable communities in 14 countries across the globe with a dedicated team of 3,000 personnel. While GOAL continues to be an agile first-responder to humanitarian crises, it is also committed to working with vulnerable communities to help them survive crises and support them on the road to recovery.

About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Development and Communications (Director of D&C), the Senior Fundraising Manager (Partnerships and Events) plays an integral role in leading GOAL's public fundraising team in Ireland. The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of GOAL's Corporate, Community, and Events income streams. This includes project management of major fundraising events such as GOAL Mile and Jersey Day, and the stewardship of key corporate supporters and relationships.

The Senior Fundraising Manager will lead on identifying, engaging, and recruiting new supporters to generate sustainable income and grow GOAL's network of volunteers and donors around Ireland and beyond.

**Please note this role is offered as a 12-month maternity contract. GOAL offers staff flexible working with our hybrid model; we require our HQ employees to work 2 days per week from our office in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin**

Key Responsibilities

Events and Community Fundraising

  1. Achieve ambitious income targets through strategic management of GOAL fundraising events.
  2. Develop and evolve GOAL's Fundraising Event portfolio to achieve a balanced mix of established and growing events that meet the needs of and maximise income from our target audiences.
  3. Drive the integration of digital into GOAL's Fundraising Events to maximise income, grow participation, and build lasting relationships with supporters.
  4. Lead on the development of GOAL's Community Fundraising programme, establishing strategies to engage, recruit, and retain new fundraisers across different events and campaigns.
  5. Define and operationalise GOAL's emergency community fundraising approach, leveraging GOAL's network of volunteers and fundraisers to raise funds in the event of sudden humanitarian crises.
  6. Develop and coach team members to build skills around donor engagement, relationship building, and new business and supporter development.

Corporate Partnerships and Fundraising

  1. Develop and deliver GOAL's Corporate Partnerships programme to achieve ambitious income targets.
  2. Provide leadership and direction to the Corporate Partnerships Manager, with a focus on securing new major partnerships that deliver significant financial and non-financial support to GOAL.
  3. Work closely with GOAL Corporate Partners, developing relationships with key staff, building trust, maximising income, and retaining partners for multiple years.
  4. Develop and establish a commercially orientated sales approach to new business development within the Corporate Partnerships Programme.

Strategy and Organisational Contribution

  1. Support the Director of D&C with the ongoing management of internal strategy, in particular GOAL's Target Operating Model process.
  2. Support with ongoing engagement and management of the Fundraising and Communications Advisory Board. This will involve the development of periodic reports and presentations.
  3. Represent the Fundraising Team at cross-departmental meetings and forums, sharing key information and updates from across the function.

People Management

  1. Effectively manage (3 direct and 2 indirect) reports to successfully deliver on their areas of accountability and fundraising targets.
  2. Provide coaching and mentorship to support team performance and longer-term growth and development.
  3. Utilise GOAL's performance management and development cycle, effectively setting objectives, monitoring progress, and providing frequent feedback and guidance to support team development.

Digital

  1. Assist with developing GOAL's overall digital fundraising strategy, identifying areas of opportunity, growth, and best practice.

Skills and Experience

  1. Significant experience in a similar senior fundraising and/or corporate partnership/events role ideally with an INGO or similar non-profit/charity organisation.
  2. Proven background of delivering on financial targets and generating revenue.
  3. Experience of managing and leading large-scale fundraising events.
  4. Strong leadership, communication, team working, and influencing skills.
  5. Excellent relationship management skills with experience in account/donor management.
  6. Excellent presentation and organisational skills with strong business acumen.
  7. Knowledge, experience, or interest in international development and humanitarian issues.
  8. Willingness to travel to and host corporate supporters in GOAL's programme countries.
  9. An understanding of the networks within the not-for-profit sector and CSR space.
  10. Experience in the NFP sector or in a CSR-related role.

We strongly encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every single requirement listed. At GOAL, we welcome people of all abilities and want to ensure that our hiring and interview process meets the needs of all applicants.
