Overview

Verathon is looking for a Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing to become the newest member of our Global Supply Chain Team located in our Bothell, WA headquarters. The Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing provides sourcing, commodity, and supply base management expertise to ensure that all aspects of the sourcing process meet Verathon's quality, production, pricing, and corporate procurement requirements. This person will utilize Verathon's established practices and processes as well as Verathon's business and management philosophy to lead initiatives in supplier sourcing selection, cost reduction, new product sourcing development support, Veterans Affairs (VA) Contract compliance, and other related sourcing activities.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide strategic sourcing leadership to Research and Development (R&D), Quality, Marketing, Finance, and Service departments in all stages of product development.
  2. Develop and maintain expertise in the supply base's contemporary technology that can be utilized to upgrade existing products and potentially be designed into new products.
  3. Develop strategies to source component parts at the lowest total acquisition cost and improve Purchase Price Variance (PPV) year over year.
  4. Lead a team of sourcing professionals to develop and implement sourcing strategies in support of 3-year Supply Chain Strategy.
  5. Provide sourcing strategy support to ensure VA Contract sub-contracting compliance is met and adhered to.
  6. Conduct negotiations that lead to Master Supply/Services Agreements, Statements of Work, and Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreements, that are in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as within the guidelines of Verathon's Policies and Procedures.
  7. Lead internal, supplier, and cross-functional teams on improvement, value engineering and optimization projects.
  8. In partnership with QA RA Quality Engineering, lead and/or organize all necessary supplier business reviews/audits including commercial, financial, and technical to ensure that Verathon maintains and continues to develop a robust and capable supply base that excels in minimum Defects Per Million (DPM), on-time delivery and lowest total cost of acquisition.
  9. Provide regular updates, reports, and metrics on cost improvements, VA Contract compliance, and new product development programs to management and purchasing staff.
  10. Support the purchasing teams with regards to Excess and Obsolete (E&O) Inventory, ensuring E&O is reduced to the lowest possible value.
  11. Solicit requests for quotations from suppliers as needed. Analyze quotation responses and make recommendations to management for procurement decisions.
  12. Manage performance expectations with suppliers.
  13. Maintain and improve Commodity Roadmaps.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor Degree (BA, BS) in related field required. MBA preferred.
  2. ISM or APICS certification preferred.
  3. 5 or more years' experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain/Sourcing.
  4. Experience in all aspects of sourcing including contract negotiations, commodity based materials management, project management, and commercial analysis, preferably in FDA 21 CFR Part 820 regulated industries.
  5. Strong skills in Microsoft Office Products utilization.
  6. Effective communicator and influence leader.
  7. Analytical skills and understanding of Margins, COGS, etc., skills desired.

Salary range - $135,000-185,000 (Compensation will vary based on skills, experience and location; it is not typical to be hired at or above the top of the salary range).

Full-time employees who are not on a commission plan are eligible for Verathon's annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance.
