The Regional Technical Operations Lead provides the technical expertise to develop and implement Regional operational strategies that align with the Global goals plan. The Regional Technical Operations Lead actively guides and supports the sub-regional operations teams where needed, and checks the processes and standards. The Regional Technical Operations Lead actively contributes to a standard way of operating by complying with the standard and using a controlled change process to continuously improve the standard.The Regional Technical Operations Lead works closely together with the Global Technical Operations Lead and ensures Global standards are implemented and maintained.

What you'll do

  • Lead and drive the Regional Technical Operations organization for Digital Realty – representing the company on all red events and technical Regional Operations matters in front of customers.
  • Work with sub-regional teams to implement Global Standards and hold sub-regional teams / local teams to account for maintaining standards across reliability, maintenance, change management, site acceptance.
  • Ensure Digital Realty is on par/ahead of its competitors in terms of operational KPIs and accreditation (e.g., ISO) and that customer requests are executed to the standard and quality required.
  • Set up a Regional Technical Operations team to support local sites and ensure there is sufficient internal resilience to deal with all technical matters 24/7
  • Ensure the Technical Operations teams have a well-articulated career path and personal performance metrics.
  • Work with sub-regional Operations team to ensure all operational processes and procedures remain compliant with the relevant regulations and local standards.
  • Work with the sub-regional Sales and Solution Engineering teams to ensure operations processes support the customer journey and promote customer satisfaction.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage operational budgets for the EMEA Region Technical Operations Teams and forecasts to support regional reporting requirements.
  • Work with sub-regional management to monitor and assess performance of operational personnel
    whereby local staff remains the responsibility of local operations.
  • Develop and implement Regional operational strategies that align with the Global goals and objectives of Digital Realty
  • Maintain a strong external network and insight into the latest developments in the data center industry, including innovative technologies and best practice solutions.

What you'll need

Expertise

  • Comprehensive experience working in mission critical environments within a large data centre, IT/Telecoms, or similar critical environment.
  • Experience in the deployment and management of large-scale, multi-site asset management programs.
  • Strong understanding of Technical Operational processes and governance principles.
  • Experience leading a function within a Technical Operations environment.
  • Experience required in remote management of internal and external resources.
  • Continuous process improvement experience and defining and managing associated metrics and KPIs.
  • Excellent report writing skills of a technical and business nature.
  • Experience of working in an international and multi-cultural environment.
  • Experienced in implementing change and driving continuous improvement.
