Senior National Account Manager- Alcohol

My Client has some of the best premium brands in the FMCG marketplace and due to a move, are now looking for a proven Senior National Account Manager- Alcohol to join the Team. People rarely move from this team and the current incumbent has taken a new role closer to home. This is a gem of an opportunity- ( Current NAM has obtained full bonus, there is a solid team in place ; the brand partners are great to work with and the Head of Alcohol is a good solid guy- who gives his Team a lot of freedom)
Why this opportunity?
my client's culture demands a lot of people but they all row in together - and in particular this team - ( if you fit the requirements below; happy to chat more about this piece- Commercial experience and drinks experience is highly advantgeous) There are 3 big sells to this sell to this position 1. Ownership of a high performing brand portfolio- whilst one of the categories is flat- this brand within the wine category is performing really well - up circa 15% 2. Their brands and room for career progression and Targets- my client has an array of iconic brands; they consistently promote from within and full bonuses are regularly paid out lastly but importantly- is the Channel Controller - Declan is calm; a really strong leader; has a wealth of FMCG experience- and he said " I would really like a strong Commercial leader who has gravitas; can present to Senior Management ; build strong relationships with the brand partners and build on the success that we have obtained to date- and a real carrot dangling is that ideally I would for this person to move in to this position over time. As you know, I give the guys a lot of autonomy and I am there to support them - we have a great team in place" ( Declan has been promoted 3 times in 7 years in this Business)
NB For this role, you must be either a National Account Manager/ Senior National Account Manager- FMCG experience is a pre- requisite ; drinks experience is highly advantgeous.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Create the vision & strategy for the portfolio for both the On & Off Trade, identifying gaps and opportunities and making sure we have the right portfolio for future growth
Lead with the commercial development of the Alcohol Portfolio, analysing performance and highlighting the key commercial factors to deliver profitable growth.
Work with the Finance, Commercial, Category, Supply Chain and Field Sales teams to deliver exceptional results through the trade at head office and field level
Track and report on the delivery of Alcohol Portfolio business goals (sales, distribution, margins and promo effectiveness)
Coordination of monthly/quarterly business presentations and reports for key brand principals to assess the business performance against agreed objectives
Lead rollout and tracking of NPD across the Alcohol Portfolio
Challenge efficiency of JBP's and course-correct where necessary.
Support Alcohol team with Return on Investment analysis and budgeting.
Any other duties and responsibilities appropriate for the role.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
A deep understanding of FMCG industry and the Irish retail & convenience landscape.
Commercially astute with relevant analytical skills and experience in budget management and promotional pricing strategies.
A strategic thinker, good at analysis and problem-solving
A creative thinker with the ability to innovate and 'think outside the box'
Strong planning and organisation skills
Ability to foster close working relationships
Strong communicator with a proven ability at stakeholder management.
Passionate about consumer trends and building brands in the Irish marketplace.
