Program Manager, Finance Operations

Job Description

SUSE Finance Operations Program Manager to lead critical project related activities.


The Program Manager will report to the VP, Finance Operations. This role is responsible for actively project managing key initiatives within the Finance Operations team. This person will work cross-functionally and collaboratively to define and scope new projects, refine and scope existing projects, identify and mitigate risks, and successfully execute projects to add value to SUSE. These projects will be a combination of technical and non-technical projects. The Program Manager will also actively partner to maintain and groom the backlog constantly driving prioritization and maximum value.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project manage key initiatives - both technical and non-technical - within the Finance Operations team, with particular focus on Product-to-Invoice
  • Define program and project structures for initiatives of various size
  • Scope and define potential new projects
  • Actively engage beyond pure project management to develop and implement potential solutions
  • Collaborate closely with other functions including IT, Legal, Sales, Channel, Finance / Accounting, and Customer Success on key initiatives
  • Develop and maintain user stories, requirements, project plans, status reports and other project-related documentation - both in traditional and Agile methodologies
  • Provide particular focus on (but not limited to) Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) and Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) processes and technology
  • Communicate effectively with defined project teams and leadership
  • Work with key cross-functional stakeholders to continuously prioritize and maintain project backlog
  • Drive and track project progress with purpose and determination
  • Assist in crafting longer-term visions of process- and systems-optimization across end-to-end processes

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Required at least 5-8 years of project management experience, in traditional and/or Agile working environments
  • Required to have at least 5 years' experience in software industry
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • At least 3-5 years of experience working closely with IT, Integration, Technology projects
  • Knowledge of Product-to-Invoice end-to-end processes including Pricing, Configuration, Quoting, Contracting, Ordering, Billing, and Entitlement Management
  • Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and geographically spread resources
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Broad and wide range of professional and managerial skills with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures
  • Ability to lead and develop virtual teams
  • Experience working in operational roles including quoting, ordering, pricing, contracting and billing is a huge plus
