We would like to invite applications for the following full-time permanent role.Service CoordinatorDroghedaRanked 2nd in The Irish Independent "Ireland's Best Employer ****" listIWA is committed to promoting, maintaining, and adding to our diverse and inclusive work environmentThe overall purpose of this role is to manage and develop IWA's Community Centre services for people with physical and sensory disability and develop a range of new services in the area.To ensure the long-term integration of people with physical disability into all aspects of Irish society through the appropriate use of a person-centered approach.For the successful implementation of this role there are several key relationships, which should be fostered and developed.Internally there will be a high level of interaction with associated IWA staff, members and volunteers.Externally a high level of promotional contact will need to be established and developed with the HSE, local authorities, community groups and any other relevant statutory or voluntary agencies.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesImplement the service models in the Community Centre servicesSupport the implementation of person-centered processes within the Community Centre servicesImplement and develop, in consultation with members a range of new programmes/services that support participation and independence in the community meeting current and unmet needsConduct needs assessments, risk assessments and training needs analysis in partnership with people using the service.Plan, monitor and review services through identified needs and develop the strengths of these programmes within the confines of service plans.Manage and lead the staff in a manner that facilitates team building and supports the development of staff to meet the standards required by the Association.Manage the training and development of staff volunteers and members, which will result in the enhancement of services delivered by the Association.Effectively manage and maximise the utilisation of budgets.Effectively manage the buildings and transport resources attached to the servicesEnsure services provided are in keeping with IWA Standards of Practice.Develop and foster working relationships and communications with both statutory and voluntary agencies.Recruit and manage volunteers to assist with services, where appropriate.Ensure services provided are in keeping with IWA Standards of Practice.Build on the capacity of people using the service, to play a full and active part in project activities.Promote positive awareness of disability in the community.Ensure that your responsibilities to safeguard children and adults from abuse or harm is a core aspect of your role and that IWA's Safeguarding Policies and Procedures are adhered to.Ensure compliance with IWA's Parent and Ancillary Safety Statements and any legislative duties set out in current Health and Safety and Fire Safety LegislationAny other duties as assigned to you from time to timePERSON SPECIFICATIONTraining, Experience and QualificationsA degree at QQI Level 8 or professional qualification in one of the following disciplines: Applied Social Studies/Registered Nurse/ Social Worker / Community Work, and/or General Management is essentialA minimum of 5 years of people management experience is essential, including previous experience of working within the disability sector or similar servicesKnowledge and SkillsComputer literate including use of databases and Microsoft Office suite is essentialA full driving license and own car are essentialStrong communication, creativity, problem solving and decision-making skillsExcellent negotiation and influencing skillsExperience of working with people with disabilities or a marginalised groupBehavioursThe ability to work under own initiative and as part of a teamPerson-centered approachAn ability to build strong relationships at all levelsStrong customer service focusBe of good characterFlexible approach to workHigh level of confidentialityCompetenciesLeadershipStrategic thinkingCommercial focusCritical analysis decision makingCommunicating influencingMotivating, developing empoweringAdaptability, drive resilienceRemuneration BenefitsThe current pay scale is subject to a 9.25% pay increase over the next 2 years (up to October ****), aligning with the recent WRC agreement aimed at enhancing pay adjustments within Section 39 organizations.Salary €46,161 to €55,856 DOEVouched expenses and mileageExcellent working conditionsTraining development opportunities25 days annual leaveAccess to Defined Contribution Pension scheme and group VHI HSF Health Cash PlansEmployee Assistance ServiceThe closing date for applications is Wednesday 3rd September ****Documentary evidence of your relevant qualification(s) will be required in advance of or during the recruitment process.
