The
Downstream Sales Officer
is responsible for promoting and selling refined petroleum products (e.g., PMS, AGO, DPK, lubricants, LPG) to retail outlets, commercial clients, and industrial customers.
The role involves developing customer relationships, identifying business opportunities, negotiating contracts, and ensuring effective product delivery and customer satisfaction in line with company goals.
Responsibilities:
Identify and engage prospective customers within assigned territory or market segment.
Promote and sell downstream petroleum products including lubricants, fuels, and gas.
Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and referrals.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules in accordance with company policies.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customers' needs to adjust sales strategies.
Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to ensure timely product delivery.
Track sales targets and prepare periodic sales reports and forecasts.
Ensure customer compliance with credit and payment terms.
Resolve customer complaints and provide after-sales support as needed.
Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events where necessary
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
2–5 years of relevant experience in downstream petroleum sales or B2B sales in a related industry.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Knowledge of petroleum products, pricing structures, and supply chain operations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM tools is an advantage.
