Responsibilities
  • Identify and maintain spare parts and tools to ensure timely maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair of equipment as required by preventive maintenance schedules, and suggest improvements.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Ensure spare parts availability for all major processes and equipment.
  • Support production on a shift basis as required.
  • Continuously improve production process equipment by identifying and implementing improvement projects that enhance operating effectiveness.
  • Coordinate and liaise with vendors, site contractors and external specialist contractors engaged in work on site.
  • Perform maintenance in compliance with health and safety regulations, procedures and accepted practices.
  • Read, analyse and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics and service manuals to carry out work.
  • Communicate existing and potential issues to Supervisor/Maintenance Manager.
  • (Dis)Assemble/Install new machines, condition and monitor sensors/equipment, etc.
Qualifications
  • Hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance and troubleshooting experience with pumps, motors, grinding and milling machines.
  • In-depth knowledge of a variety of machines with respect to maintenance and repair.
  • Experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanics and electrics.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good team player with the ability to organize tasks.
  • Available to work overtime including weekends and public holidays as required.
  • Qualification in Industrial Automation Technician is advantageous, or a background in mechatronics, instrumentation, mechanical and/or electrical knowledge.
