The Role

The Manufacturing Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directing and coordinating all technical and maintenance activities in support of production in a safe, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly manner, assuring capacity and achieving plant performance metrics.

Duties Include
  • Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives identified through ongoing assessment of equipment issues and reliability (based on gathered data and statistical analysis).
  • Apply effective methods of preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure resource deployment is effective and efficient, including review/optimisation of existing Preventative Maintenance Activities ("PM Optimisation").
  • Develop and track department KPIs to measure equipment and maintenance performance, such as MTBF, MTTR, OEEs, schedule attainment, labour utilisation, work order backlog, PM/calibration completion rates, spare parts usage, and costs control.
  • Champion and lead asset condition management using new technologies, emphasizing non-intrusive testing, predictive maintenance, and monitoring to maximize uptime and detect early signs of failure.
  • Supervise employees, allocate work, coordinate training, and handle issues up to disciplinary counseling.
  • Ensure adherence to Attendance Management policies.
  • Lead initiatives to mitigate re-occurring 'bad actors'.
  • Recruit and select technicians for assigned departments.
  • Manage performance through assessments, 121s, appraisals, and reviews.
  • Provide a safe, injury-free workplace for all employees.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety legislation and safety procedures.
  • Partner with the Quality department to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Foster a culture of right first time (RFT) to ensure product quality.
Who You Are
  • Minimum 8+ years' experience in an Engineering/Technical/Maintenance Leadership role, preferably within the Life Science, Medical Device, or Pharmaceutical Industry.
  • Trades Qualified (advantage).
  • Engineering qualification (Level 7 or 8) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent (advantage).
  • Experience or qualification in Reliability Engineering (advantage).

  • Preferable experience with SAP Next / PM system.
  • Preferable experience with Calibration Systems.
  • Experience in ATEX environments (advantage).
  • Experience with Planned Preventative and Proactive Maintenance approaches.
  • Awareness of Quality and Environmental Health and Safety standards.
