PE Global Recruitment are currently partnered with a leading semi-state Renewable Energy organisation to recruit a PMO Operations Manager to join the team. This is a full time, permanent role, overseeing renewable Energy infrastructure projects.

The Position:

The PMO Operations Manager plays a key role in delivering a diverse portfolio of renewable energy projects—including wind (onshore and offshore), solar, flextech, peatland rehabilitation, and public good initiatives. This role oversees the operational functions of the Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring consistent governance, standardised processes, and organisational capability development.

Working closely with the Head of Project Management and Program Managers, the Operations Manager drives project transparency and control across large-scale programs. They will lead a team of project support staff, manage project control systems, and enhance project delivery practices aligned with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement scalable project delivery frameworks, governance structures, and standardised methodologies across the energy project portfolio.
  • Support Program and Project Managers throughout project lifecycles, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to scope. Provide performance dashboards and governance reporting to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional managers to optimise resource allocation, forecast capacity needs, and prioritise strategic initiatives. Act as a liaison between project teams and stakeholders to align expectations.
  • Lead and manage a team of analysts and coordinators, fostering a high-performing, collaborative environment.
  • Promote project management excellence through training, coaching, and organisational capability-building.
  • Manage cross-functional business projects aligned with company priorities.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Welfare provisions.
  • Actively participate in performance management and lead direct reports effectively.

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum 10 years' project management experience, including 5+ in a senior PMO or project role in the energy/infrastructure sector.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale renewable energy or infrastructure projects from planning through execution.
  • Strong understanding of Ireland's regulatory, grid, and planning environment for energy infrastructure.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of project management practices, particularly in outsourced delivery models.
