The Role.
GMC Utilities Group are currently seeking an experienced Document Controller to join our team in Mitchelstown, Co. Cork. This position is part of our growing Gas Division and will play a key role in supporting project delivery through effective document management and control.
Scope:
The successful candidate will be responsible for organising, maintaining, and controlling project documentation across our Gas Contract works. You will collaborate closely with site teams, engineers, and management to ensure all project documents are accurate, compliant, and readily accessible.
Key Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a document control process in line with ISO and project-specific standards
Manage project-related documentation including technical drawings, procedures, correspondence, and compliance records
Monitor document versions and ensure timely updates across teams
Maintain construction records and ensure traceability throughout the project lifecycle
Work closely with the Gas project team to ensure documentation is collected, reviewed, and stored appropriately
Perform regular audits of documentation for accuracy, compliance, and accessibility
Provide training and support to project staff on document control procedures
Liaise with stakeholders to ensure documents are distributed and received in a timely manner
Assist with preparation of reports for audits, client reviews, and internal quality systems
The Candidate: Required Experience and Competencies:
Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a document control or administrative role, preferably in a construction, utilities, or engineering environment
Excellent organisational and time management skills with strong attention to detail
Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2018 standards
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); knowledge of document management systems is a plus
