celebrated 40 years of service in these regions. In September 2021, ZwickRoell UK and Ireland commenced the construction of a new headquarters
in Worcester. This facility includes a customer Xperience centre, offices, meeting and seminar
rooms, and a fully equipped demonstration laboratory, underscoring our commitment to customer
support and advanced technology testing solutions.

Summary of position:
The role of Area Sales Manager/Sales Engineer at ZwickRoell UK & Ireland involves reporting directly
to the Sales Manager. The ideal candidate is a technology enthusiast with strong motivation to
understand the specific needs of diverse customers, ensuring the right specifications are met and a
suitable solution is presented.

Location: Scotland, North East & North West

Overview :

  • Support the sales team by identifying and delivering tailored solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Operate primarily from a home office, with periodic travel to Worcester for in-person meetings and customer demonstrations.

This position combines technical sales expertise with a consultative approach, focusing on building
long-term customer relationships by effectively addressing their material testing needs.

Key responsibilities:
  • Achieve sales target assigned by sales manager for dedicated region.
  • Regular meetings with customers over the phone, e-mail or visit to assist in technical, applications and commercial aspects of sales process.
  • Prepare and present technical presentations of ZwickRoell group products and its demonstration, if needed, to the customer to meet their needs.
  • Manage and interpret customer requirements, speak with customers to understand their requirements and offer our solutions to meet their needs.
  • Generate technical sales proposals and discuss the proposal with the customer.
  • Manage and update records of customer communication and sales activity in the CRM system and follow internal communication protocols and workflows.
  • Finalize orders after technical and commercial negotiation meetings with customers.
  • Maintain good relationships with customers throughout the sales and after-sales process.
  • Inform marketing department as per defined timeline for upcoming marketing events (exhibitions, conferences, fairs, seminars) in dedicated region and work closely with marketing department to conduct such activities.
  • Attend and arrange exhibitions, conferences, ZwickRoell Forums, ZwickRoell Seminars and similar events for the purpose of attracting and retaining customers, increasing network, improving the branding of products and increasing market awareness.
  • Preparation of weekly report, monthly report, visit report and submission to the sales manager as per defined timelines.
  • Prepare and run software demonstrations.
  • Fulfill ad-hoc duties assigned by sales manager.
Key selection criteria:
  • Degree in mechanical engineering or other engineering, technology or science related subject would be advantageous but not necessary.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal and be able to adapt these to suit the situation, task.
  • Be highly proficient in MS Office and capable of producing and editing large Word documents, Excel sheets and PowerPoint presentations. Knowledge of MS SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, MS Teams.
  • Ability to use CRM experience (Microsoft Dynamics Preferably).
  • Ability to present company and technical presentations.
  • Able to work under pressure and autonomously.

This is a key area for our future business expansion plans, within a company which has experienced
rapid growth within the last 5 years. Following extensive product training in the UK and Germany, the successful candidate will be
responsible for sales of all ZwickRoell Group testing products and be accountable for the success of
all sales opportunities with main focus on supporting the area. The successful candidate should be self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work unsupervised and
will need to be flexible. The candidate will report directly to the UK Sales Manager.
