Overview

Housekeeping Supervisor required at Beechfield Care Group for St Gabriel's Nursing Home, Raheny, Co Dublin. This is a full-time, 40-hour position with varied hours to meet home needs and occasional weekend work.

Responsibilities
  • Assign workers their duties and inspect work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
  • Investigate complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and take corrective action.
  • Coordinate work activities among departments.
  • Conduct orientation and in-service training to explain policies, procedures, and demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Inventory stock to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Make recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation.
  • Perform cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage.
  • Examine building to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment, and make recommendations to management.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss company policies and resident complaints (if any).
  • Issue supplies and equipment to housekeeping team.
  • Establish standards and procedures for the work of housekeeping staff.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
  • Strong organisation and planning skills to ensure staffing is adequate across the home and supplies are kept in order and replaced on units as required.
  • Be a team player and able to work with management and staff.
  • Be a visible and credible leader who can lead by example.
Qualifications
  • Experience in housekeeping supervision or a similar leadership role within a care home or related environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
  • Strong organisation and planning skills.
  • Ability to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
