
Project Manager Civils

An established and growing electrical contracting and consultancy company is seeking an experienced Civils Project Manager to oversee key infrastructure projects in the Cork region. This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale public lighting, utility, and civil engineering works across Ireland, with a company recognised for its commitment to safety, innovation, and environmental responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of civil infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with health & safety, quality, cost, and programme targets.
- Monitor project performance and financials, including KPIs, budget tracking, billing, and cash flow, while implementing recovery plans as required.
- Develop detailed project schedules and resource plans, coordinating materials, plant, equipment, and personnel.
- Lead day-to-day coordination of crews, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of works.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and design teams, ensuring transparent and proactive communication.
- Prepare and deliver regular progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage scope changes, liaising with the QS team to ensure variation pricing and cost recovery.
- Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to continuous development of project management systems.
- Build and lead a high-performing team aligned with company goals and values.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications:
- Degree (Level 8) in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in a project management role within civil engineering or construction.
- Demonstrated success delivering civil infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
- Proven experience managing utility-related works and road opening licences (Purple Book).
- Experience working in environments with public lighting, EV charging, or sports lighting is advantageous.
Certifications:
- Safe Pass, PSCS
- SLG (Signing, Lighting & Guarding)

- Project Management: Proven ability to manage complex civil works from planning to delivery.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong cost management, contract administration, and financial reporting skills.
- Leadership: Capable of motivating and managing multi-disciplinary site teams and subcontractors.
- Health & Safety: Excellent understanding of H&S legislation and best practices on construction sites.
- Communication: Skilled in stakeholder engagement and team coordination.
- Problem Solving: Proactive approach to resolving issues and driving projects forward.
- Utility Awareness: Good working knowledge of working safely around underground services (gas, water, electric, telecoms).
