Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineer to oversee all civil engineering activities across residential development sites in the Waterford area. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the project is executed with precision, efficiency, and adherence to safety standards.

The Site Engineer will be responsible for conducting detailed site surveys, setting out of housing units, roadways, etc., and coordinating and supervising subcontractors such as the groundworks team to ensure smooth project execution. Additionally, they will review technical drawings and specifications to provide clear instructions and guidance to the site team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage all engineering activities on site.
  • Conduct detailed site surveys and setting out of the housing units, roadways, etc.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors such as the groundworks team to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Review technical drawings and specifications to provide clear instructions and guidance to the site team.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, and management to communicate project status and address any concerns.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, logs, and records.
  • Provide technical support and expertise throughout all phases of construction.
  • Manage interface with utilities providers such as Irish Water.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with significant experience in site setting out.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Total Station, and other surveying equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
