Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist - County Louth - 12-Month Contract

With manufacturing sites around the world, they regularly win awards confirming their status as a market leader. This facility in Massachusetts is a trademark facility attracting significant attention in the US.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with statutory legislation and internal policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate environmental controls and ensure compliance with IPC license.
  • Maintain records and generate reports promptly and efficiently.
  • Liaise with external EHS agencies, e.g., EPA, ensuring compliance with all environmental licenses for the facility.
  • Coordinate site environmental waste management and promote continuous improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with Battery, WEEE, and Waste Packaging Directives for Europe.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures.
  • Implement and update EHS control procedures as needed.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Science, Engineering, or Health & Safety (Level 8).
  • Postgraduate qualification in Health & Safety (Level 9).
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical/biosafety industry and working within a regulatory environment.
  • Experience managing EHS teams, either within the department or as part of program initiatives.
  • Experience leading root cause investigations.
  • Attention to detail and strong scientific problem-solving skills, with experience in occupational health and safety roles in manufacturing or process industries.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to envision future possibilities and develop breakthrough strategies.
