Position OverviewKKR is looking to add a talented Lead Engineer to its Portfolio Construction team. Our agile team is responsible for delivering solutions to drive our world-class Portfolio Management and Business Operations teams through investment strategy, portfolio management and operations. You will work on a cloud-native tech stack of micro services leveraging Kubernetes and modern CI/CD approaches. We primarily use React on the frontend and Python and Node.js on the backend. As an Engineer, you will help further the standard for engineering excellence not only on the team but in the entire organization.
Responsibilities- Write and review code, and deploy systems that support the business.
- Provide support for all aspects of the Portfolio Construction platform.
- Participate in application design and architecture reviews.
- Engage in an agile, iterative software development process.
- Collaborate closely with business, product and engineering stakeholders.
- Break down complex problems into simple, creative, and effective solutions.
- Build solutions for high availability, observability, and maintainability.
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- At least 2 years of experience with cloud-based service-oriented architecture and web services
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field (Engineering/Mathematics/Computer Science)
- Advanced knowledge of any of Python, Node.js, Go, or Java with a proven track record of delivering high-quality data and web applications
- Strong background in databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and data pipelines
- Experience in designing, delivering, and securing data-rich web applications
- Experience in a front office support environment with effective communication skills for interacting with business stakeholders
- Exposure to web programming and related frameworks (e.g., HTML, JS, React)
- Interest in finance and ability to quickly learn new business concepts
- Ability to think strategically and act tactically with exceptional attention to detail
- Demonstrated curiosity, analytical skills, and resourcefulness with a proven record of ownership and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment
