Project Worker – 12 Month FTC with a view to Permanency

Salary: €37,109.46 per annum
RoleThis role offers a fantastic opportunity to provide support to our organisation's central services in Dublin. Depaul is a values-led organisation working with a number of services throughout Dublin. This role will report directly to the local management team. This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding team that is focused on the organisation's development going forward.
Key Areas of Responsibility- To ensure the practical needs of our services users are met i.e. providing food, laundry, clean bedding etc., while ensuring a safe and secure environment in a high standard service.
- To assess the needs of service users and to refer them to appropriate agencies.
- To provide key working to a number of residents, recording this work, advocating for them and updating line manager and the team on progress.
- To liaison with external agencies, health boards and county councils.
- To ensure all quality assurance policies and procedures are adhered to.
- To assist the medical and nursing staff with the health care of service users.
- To be a team player taking a role in handovers, supervising volunteers and supporting your team members in ensuring all decision making is consistent.
- To participate in supervision with your line manager and annual appraisals and identifying your own professional development within your role.
- To ensure all Depaul policies and procedures are adhered to, particularly Health and Safety, Code of Conduct and Confidentiality.
- To at all times undertake your role in a professional manner maintaining a high quality standard of work in line with Depaul values and ethos.

Person Requirements- Two years' paid experience working in a social care field, desirably in a residential setting (essential).
- Social Care Accredited Qualification, or CORU registered/eligible to work towards CORU registration.
- Good working knowledge of risk assessment processes and systems (e.g., service/user risk assessment, lone working, activity risk assessments).
- Understanding of harm reduction and low threshold working.
- Understanding of why people become homeless and the issues they present with, and what supports can be offered in homeless services to people with complex needs.
- Experience with needs assessment, key-working and support planning for people with complex needs; knowledge of statutory and voluntary sector resources available to homeless people; understanding of health and safety in a residential setting.
- Good communication skills and computer literacy.
- Knowledge and understanding of Depaul's vision, mission and values.
- Proficient use of IT, including professional email use.
- An understanding of, and respect for, the values and beliefs of Depaul.

Benefits- Annual leave: 25 days per year after up to 3 years' service; 27 days per year after 3–5 years; 30 days per year after more than 5 years (exclusive of bank and statutory holidays). 10 public holidays each year with Good Friday discretionary.
- Day off and day pay for Christmas Day, St Stephen's Day, and New Year's Day worked for shift workers.
- Non-shift workers: Paid day off on public holidays. Shift workers: an additional day of annual leave in lieu.
- Non-rostered employees: May be entitled to one-fifth of the normal weekly rate of remuneration for public holidays.
