The primary purpose of this role is to oversee the Facilities Maintenance of the Bakery environment and ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard. The goal is to keep all areas audit/visit ready at all times.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance and repairs to the fabric and facilities of the Bakery, including production equipment, guarding, and utilities areas.
  • Ensuring all areas are audit-ready from a facilities perspective.
  • Collaborating with other departments to understand issues and ensure timely, first-time resolution.
  • Working with Quality and Hygiene teams on audit/visit preparation and deep cleaning routines.
  • Performing routine repairs and maintenance tasks as prescribed by Department Heads.
  • Preparing the Bakery and Cold Store environments for audits/visits.
  • Implementing improvement projects with fellow Facilities Maintenance Technicians.
  • Facilitating deep cleaning activities as instructed by the Quality and Hygiene Manager.
  • Closing out repair and maintenance tasks in collaboration with the Maintenance Department and H&S Manager.
  • Building proofing, including doors, windows, walls, and cable or piping trays as instructed by pest control services via the Quality Manager.
  • Performing routine cleaning tasks in specialized areas like cable trays and electrical control panels.

Skills & Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years' experience in a Facilities Maintenance role.

  • Preferably from a trades background.
  • Experience in Facilities Maintenance is desirable but training will be provided if needed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proactive, self-motivated, quick learner, and adaptable.
  • Proven experience in an engineering/maintenance environment with relevant training and skills is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office.
  • Ability to work flexibly, under pressure, and independently to achieve results.
  • Strong task management skills and ability to plan work according to business needs.
