About the Role

The Hillgrove Hotel & Spa is looking for a highly motivated Food and Beverage Assistant to join our team, focusing on supporting meetings and events. You will ensure the smooth operation of all food and beverage services for our guests. Willingness to work shifts during weekdays and weekends is required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide efficient, prompt, and courteous service
  • Serve restaurant guests their orders promptly and courteously
  • Record guest orders accurately and serve food and beverages
  • Check with guests periodically for additional needs
  • Process guest checks accurately
  • Handle compliments and complaints, reporting to management
  • Arrange furniture in the restaurant as needed
  • Keep the work area stocked, clean, and tidy
  • Ensure all service items meet quality standards
  • Maintain knowledge of menu, wine, and beer lists to advise guests and promote sales
  • Upsell professionally and courteously
  • Assist in restaurant and room service operations
  • Coordinate with the Restaurant Manager on set-ups and reservations
  • Comply with alcohol and liquor policies
Additional Duties
  • Review hotel activities and update logs
  • Assist the Restaurant Manager as needed
  • Attend meetings and training
  • Work flexible schedules to ensure guest service
  • Maintain professionalism in all job functions
Qualifications
  • At least 1 year experience in food and beverage service, preferably in a hotel
  • Experience supporting meetings and events
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Positive attitude and guest-focused
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and multitask
  • Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage procedures (a plus)
