As the leading provider of demand response, energy procurement and energy management solutions, Enel X has an immediate need for a Commercial Solutions Sales Lead IE to join our regional sales organization.

Effective integration of demand-side flexibility into the future energy system is a key driver to achieve decarbonisation. Distributed energy assets incl. battery storage and UPS solutions increase the options for businesses to generate value from flexibility in demand, increase business resiliency and contribute to decarbonisation. Enel X is a leader in the delivery of these services to Data Centres in Ireland and they are a key vertical to us Globally. The Commercial Solutions Sales Lead would be responsible for creating value propositions that will win further deals with our existing and new customers, using our network of partners to create more value for all. This aim role's responsibilities include strengthening existing partnerships and creating new ones to increase value for our customers.

The Commercial Solutions Sales Lead IE will act as a subject matter expert in this context who will position Enel X's demand-side flexibility solutions with existing and new partners as well as with energy-intensive businesses. This role is part of our UK&IE sales team led by the Head of B2B Sales. It requires a confident and professional self-starter who is comfortable interfacing with C-level leadership, in large global multinationals. The right candidate needs to be proactive in lead generation and closing business, focused on meeting the customer’s needs in a dynamic business environment. Proven success in progressing segment-led accounts, navigating complex sales processes, and managing multiple internal stakeholders to meet a customer’s energy needs is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a Strategy to retain and grow the Demand Response portfolio to deliver future obligations;
  • Promote Enel X as the provider of flexibility solutions, optimization and market access services toward leading businesses in the area of distributed energy systems, define partnership goals and manage for mutual success;
  • Establish self as the face of Enel X and primary point of contact with existing partners within 6 months of starting.
  • Extend existing Partner agreements and DR sales in line with agreed targets
  • Identify & Establish new partnerships in Ireland & UK with Energy Storage Developers with a pipeline to deliver 2024 UK targets.
  • Review & redefine partner strategy with metrics for engagement, experience and value created for both the customer and Enel X proposing ways to structure the engagement to reduce Enel X cost to serve.
  • Strategically map sales account plans with partner companies and develop in-depth sales proposals to deliver new business and margin targets, negotiate and close contracts.
  • Work with Enel X's marketing & communications teams on ways to communicate product successes with partners.
  • Use existing and future Enel X internal applications for transparent sales pipeline management and progress reporting; close teamwork with Enel X Sales Operations, Legal and Administrative functions;
  • Create and format proposals for commercial offers with the agreement of the P&L owner and Marketing;
  • Arrange and review commercial deals for New Sales & Renewals.
  • Work closely with the Customer Success Manager for commercial reviews, account plans, etc. as well as the Marketing Team.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of B.A. or B.S. degree required, ideally in a technical engineering discipline;
  • At least 7 years of B2B sales experience, selling into large commercial or industrial businesses - sales background in the demand response, data centre industry and/or working with battery storage developers highly desirable.
  • Sales experience with providers of other distributed energy resources (incl. CHP, Solar PV, battery storage, backup generation etc.) considered;
  • A proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales quotas in the area of energy solutions, energy management consulting, demand-side response or energy management services in the commercial and industrial markets;
  • Evidence of having successfully built strong relations and led channel partnerships with leading businesses in the energy solutions space;
  • Ability to illustrate value in a technical and commercial data-driven approach to C-level decision makers, as well as interacting with facilities managers and engineers;
  • Must be able to work as part of our team with autonomy and be capable of delivery – offering highly technical solutions to some of the world’s leading companies requires a strong aptitude for learning and an adaptive approach to managing the sales cycle.
