Business and Fundraising Manager

Role: Business Manager with responsibility for Fundraising Base: West Cork, with flexibility for a hybrid working model(envisaged to be based in Dunmanway, location will be agreed with the successful candidate) Hours: Full Time (35 hours per week) Contract: Permanent Application Deadline: 11th February 2025 at 12pm The following description is intended to give a broad outline of the post only. It is neither exhaustive nor definitive. Duties may be altered or amended to suit the changing needs of the organisation. The post holder will be consulted regarding any such changes. It is our policy to review job descriptions on an on-going basis. Overall Purpose of Position The Business Manager is an integral member of the Leadership Team. The Business Manager will have a gatekeeper role in the organisation of the business, governance and fundraising within the Team, therefore positive and productive working relationships are key to fulfilling the role. The purpose of the position is to ensure that systems and processes are appropriately established and fit for purpose from a governance, business and fundraising perspective, and to provide business and governance support to the office of the CEO. Main Responsibilities Governance Responsible for governance and oversight mechanisms to ensure that the corporate responsibilities of the organisation are met, including but not limited to the following: Collating of and Reporting of Existing and Future Key Performance Indicators inclusive of the maintaining of CoAction information on 3rd party databases such as the National Ability Supports System To oversee the policies and procedures in place regarding service user feedback inclusive of compliments and complaints To collate and respond to external requests for information on behalf of the organisation inclusive of Parliamentary Queries, Public Representations, Freedom of Information requests, Subject Access Requests and Media Requests To manage the Service Level Agreement Process between the Health Service Executive (HSE) and CoAction To ensure CoAction complies with all Regulatory Registration and Statutory Notifications Requirements To oversee and implement the Communications Policy of the organisation inclusive of the framework in place for proactive communication with key stakeholders. Ensure efficient and effective delivery of all business, administrative and corporate governance reporting requirements of CoAction Ensure efficient and effective day to day operational management, including line management functions, managing workflow assignment, and tracking actions to completion; Coordinate, track, and support the efficient completion of actions aligned to the Strategic Plan Work collaboratively to progress actions, resolve issues, and consolidate information from various sources into actionable summaries to support informed decision making, and escalate issues appropriately as required. Ensure processes are in place for compliance and to report nationally as required. Fundraising Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet annual and long-term fundraising goals and to support the achievement of the organisations strategic plans Analyse the results of fundraising campaigns and provide reports to management and other relevant stakeholders Identify, cultivate, obtain, and steward major donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and other funding sources Oversee the planning and execution of special events, fundraising campaigns, and donor recognition activities Prepare and present regular reports on fundraising progress to the leadership team and board of Trustees Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and ethical standards in fundraising practices. Foster a culture of philanthropy within the organization and among donors and stakeholders Utilize data-driven approaches to analyze fundraising performance and identify areas for improvement Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including board members, volunteers, and community partners Service Development Develop funding proposals and plans to support the organisation's initiatives and projects Lead on engagement with stakeholders to promote CoAction within the community and support the integration of the organisation Proactively identify areas for improvement in business functioning and implement solutions to improve service delivery, in line with legislation and benchmarking against best practice. Data protection put in place measures to ensure we have a coherent approach to FOI, GDPR and all relevant legislative requirements. Responsible for the preparation ofbusiness cases tosupport applications for funding General Prepare clear, concise, accurate reports backed up by sufficient reliable documentary evidence. Undertake special assignments as requested to support service and personal development. Attend meetings as required. Prepare agenda, take minutes at meetings and prepare for circulation following meeting as agreed. Maintain own knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and practices to perform the role effectively including compliance with HSE Financial regulations, GDPR, Health & Safety legislation, Employment legislation, Freedom of Information Acts, the Charities Regulator and Approved Housing Bodies Regulatory Authority. Pursue continuous professional development to develop management expertise and professional knowledge. Keep ICT and digital skills up to date with developments to lever emerging opportunities. Undertake all mandatory training. Essential Qualifications & Experience 3rd level qualification in a relevant discipline Experience of managing multiple and competing priorities and deadlines, where the ability to analyse and interpret information to inform timely decisions was essential Experience in a management position within fundraising, corporate engagement, or individual giving Experience of working in a busy office environment, which has involved interacting in a professional manner with senior management and other key internal and external stakeholders, in the delivery of a quality service Experience of managing people and fostering teamwork Essential Knowledge, Skills & Competencies Professional Knowledge and Experience Demonstrate: Knowledge and understanding of delivering effective and efficient business management systems and services. Experience of gathering and analysing information from a variety of sources with a strong attention to detail. Commitment to developing own knowledge and expertise. Planning, Managing Resources and Achieving Results Demonstrate: Evidence of incorporating the needs of the people we support into service delivery. Strong planning and organising skills including, prioritising and organising own work load and that of others effectively. The ability to use computer technology and databases effectively for the management and delivery of results. Understanding of planning cycles and the need to effectively contribute to strategic and service planning and monitoring. The ability to take responsibility and be accountable for the delivery of agreed objectives. A logical and pragmatic approach to workload, delivering the best possible results with the resources available. The ability to work to tight deadlines and operate effectively with multiple projects and competing priorities. Strong numeracy skills and ability to analyse and present financial and activity data.
