Summary The Business Development Manager focuses on driving revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and developing strategies for expansion. The role reports into the Director of Business Development, working closely with the Director and SVP of Global Sales and Marketing Essential Functions Qualification for this position is predicated not only on satisfactory performance of essential duties as outlined below, but also on compliance with general company policies and procedures and any other duties as assigned. Identify and develop new business opportunities with current and new customers at all stages of the sales cycle to include targeting, prospecting, and presenting compelling business propositions. Researching potential markets, identifying leads and actively pursuing new business leads Ensure consistent sales growth by maintaining existing accounts & client relationships, understanding their needs, driving solutions and continually identifying & developing new sales opportunities with new customers Oversee the sales cycle, develop and present sales presentations/proposals, negotiate new contracts that effectively demonstrate the value proposition of MGS Work closely with Estimating to review estimates; send estimates to customers Staying informed about market trends, competitor activities, and customer behavior to identify opportunities and challenges Close liaison with Project Managers to meet customer needs/project delivery at the plant level Arrange and participate in internal and external customer meetings & audits Act as the main point of contact for management of all commercial and contractual aspects, working closely with US commercial team on existing and new project opportunities Present to and consult with the Sales Management team on customer business trends and forecasts Work with marketing staff to handle customer RFI and survey forms Follow up with customers on existing and new quotes on a regular basis Use CRM software to track and record activity on customer accounts and help to close deals to meet sales targets Use expense software to submit expense reports monthly Other duties as assigned Competencies Flexibility Initiative Cooperation & Teamwork Organization Attention to Detail Communication Skills Time Management Customer Focused Supervisory Responsibility N/A Qualifications, Education, Experience, and Training Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university is preferred 3-5 years of progressive sales/commercial/business experience Progressive track record in the healthcare/regulated markets preferred Understanding of/experience working within the plastics/injection molding industry desirable Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills Analytical and problem solving skills Strategic Thinking Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, SFDC, and PowerPoint Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally, will be required for customer visits, entertainment, and industry events (approx. 50-75%). This position requires the use of a computer to complete certain deliverables. The primary position location is a home office, though as stated above some travel is required.
