The IT Operations Engineer is responsible for maintaining and optimizing cloud infrastructure, supporting daily IT operations, and ensuring system reliability and performance. This role works with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, address technical issues, and assist with automation and continuous improvement initiatives. The position also plays a key role in strengthening the organization’s security posture by proactively managing systems to prevent vulnerabilities, enforce access controls, and ensure endpoint integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, including diagnosing outages and system performance problems.
Manage daily IT tasks, respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and assist users.
Configure, install, and manage servers, laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, and scanners.
Administer Azure AD/Entra ID for user/group management and identity access.
Manage Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive) and support cloud‑based business applications.
Manage software licensing, procurement, and asset tracking, ensuring cost‑effective, compliant usage of hardware and software across the organization.
Perform system backups, patch management, and implement endpoint protection.
Support network fundamentals (VLANs, WAN, Fibre, Wi‑Fi standards) and assist with structured cabling and connectivity issues.
Manage and support remote access tools, ticketing systems, and IT documentation.
Reinforce cybersecurity by securing systems, ensuring compliance, and promoting user awareness through training and phishing simulations.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure IT systems meet business needs.
Qualifications & Skills
A minimum of three years’ experience in a System Administrator, IT Operations Engineer, or equivalent role is required.
Solid understanding of networking, firewalls, and system hardening.
Strong knowledge of Windows OS, networking, and enterprise environments (Windows/MacOS/Linux).
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
Proactive problem‑solver who can work independently while keeping leadership updated.
Nice to Have
Experience with scripting and automating workflows (PowerShell, Power BI).
Familiarity with device compliance, conditional access, and zero‑trust principles.
An understanding of IT compliance, regulations (ISO, SOC 2), and best practices.
Familiarity with endpoint protection, behavioral analytics, and application control tools.
