We are seeking a highly organised, meticulous, and experienced Administrator to provide comprehensive support to our IPC department. This role is central to managing essential surveillance data and ensuring the team has the administrative framework needed to effectively control and prevent infections Purpose of the Role The IPC Administrator will be responsible for managing critical databases and providing essential administrative services to the IPC Team. You will ensure that all datafrom laboratory reports to audit statisticsis accurately processed, maintained, and used to support the clinical surveillance and quality goals of the service. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Data Management, Auditing, and Surveillance Process microbiology laboratory reports accurately and promptly. Maintain and timely update all infection control databases. Manage the C. difficile Enhanced Surveillance database for mandatory quarterly reporting to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC). Update MRSA & VRE patient profiles and assist the nurses with patient tracing and investigation activities. Compile monthly and annual statistics for key metrics, including Hand Hygiene, MRSA, VRE, and C. difficile. Manage the lifecycle of monthly and annual Surgical Site Infection (SSI) audits. Documentation and IPC Support Assist in the preparation of all documentation related to IPC aspects of the HIQA Safer, Better Healthcare Standards and Accreditation guidelines. Compile and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the department, in conjunction with the nursing team. Manage and update the Infection Prevention and Control intranet web pages. Coordinate education sessions and accurately record staff attendance. Obtain patient charts (e.g., discharged patients) as requested by the IPC Nurses for investigation purposes. General Administration Handle all general office administrative duties, including managing post, filing systems, telephone enquiries, and stationery requirements.
