A long-established Irish food brand is seeking to hire an experienced Area Sales Manager (ASM) to oversee and grow sales activity across the Cork region.
The primary focus of this role is to manage and expand sales performance within the assigned area. You will be responsible for leading and developing Van Sales teams, authorised distributors, and associated depots to ensure a consistent, best-in‑class customer experience.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong track record in sales management and a proven ability to grow and maintain business within a defined territory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Management: Achieve yearly and quarterly sales targets by managing existing accounts, developing new business opportunities, and ensuring strong after‑sales service.
- Returns Management: Oversee depot returns and ensure they remain within agreed percentage targets.
- Stock Reconciliation: Ensure all stock movements—from delivery through to sale—are fully reconciled and accurately accounted for.
- Rota Management: Create and manage staff rotas, including holiday cover and absenteeism planning.
- Staffing: Support the recruitment, selection, and training of staff based on operational needs.
- Operational Coverage: Ensure adequate staffing levels are in place across all functions at all times.
- Fleet & Transport: Oversee the maintenance and management of company vehicles within the area.
- Accident Procedures: Ensure all company accident reporting processes are adhered to.
- Reporting: Provide accurate and timely reports to regional and senior management to support operational and commercial decision‑making.
- Communication: Keep management informed of all issues or developments that could impact the business.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar sales‑focused role.
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent communication skills.
- Proven planning, organisational, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and initiative.
- Ability to contribute to sales strategy discussions and work effectively as part of a team.
