The Academy Plaza Hotel are looking for a Hall Porter to join our team The main duties of this role included: The hall porters will have a constant visible presence within the lobby area. Always smile, have constant eye contact, positive body language, pride in position and appearance. Use initiative and make guest as comfortable as possible. Use the guests name at least once where possible. The Hall Porter must maintain a professional and friendly demeanour without every getting too casual or familiar with guests. Overseeing Conference & Banqueting set ups including any refreshment or conference breaks. Arrange taxis, coaches etc.. for guests and also no where parking is for both You should sign your shift checklists. You will be responsible for ensuring that guest wake up calls are delivered each morning in accordance with the log compiled by the front desk staff. The lobby must remain clear of luggage, clean and tidy. You will be responsible for maintaining the hotel ambience at all times. Music, lighting and presentation of the lobby areas are your main focus. The storage of luggage in the luggage store must be neat, tidy, properly organized and it should be easy to retrieve, any item, once stored. All luggage items must be tagged and duplicate tag given to guest. Routine cleaning of public areas. To work closely with the front office and assist with any guest queries that may arise. Hall Porters must have a wide range of knowledge of the hotel and Dublin as a city. It is imperative that we believe in what we tell our guests and offer them the best information and advice that is available all in-house services incl. Bar, Restaurant. You are responsible for the knowledge made available to guests on all local and national amenities, facilities and services. Requirements: The ideal candidate must have a professional and friendly approach and must be focused on providing excellent customer service. They must be a team player and have the ability to multi task. Excellent attention to detail is a must. An excellent level of spoken English. This position is night work typically and includes working weekends.
