West County Hotel is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Operations Manager to join our team. As a family owned and operated Irish hotel, we are searching for a hands-on, outgoing, and highly motivated individual who will lead the team across the various hotel departments including Food & Beverage, Accommodation and private events and conferences. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring the highest standards of service, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. Key Duties and Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of all hotel departments, ensuring seamless and efficient service delivery. Lead, motivate, and support department managers and team members across all departments (Front Office, Accommodation, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, etc.). Drive guest satisfaction by ensuring exceptional service standards are consistently met. Maintain a visible presence within the hotel, addressing guest concerns and promoting a welcoming atmosphere. Implement and monitor standard operating policies and procedures to maintain compliance and quality assurance. Develop and deliver training programs to nurture team performance and enhance operational excellence. Work closely with ownership/senior management to develop strategic initiatives to grow business opportunities. Analyse revenue performance, develop pricing strategies, implement cost controls and ensure hotel margins meet set targets. Develop and maintain relationships with key corporate clients, suppliers, and partners to drive sustained business. Co-ordinating the Health, Safety and Compliance agenda in the hotel. Requirements A strong background in Hospitality Management, with at least 3 years in an operations management or senior supervisory role within the hotel sector. Must have a strong knowledge of all departments within the hotel with a particular emphasis on food & beverage/sales & events and the new initiatives/innovations taking place within the industry. Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop teams. Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and operational costs. Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills. A hands-on, proactive approach with a strong focus on guest service and operational standards. Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to the dynamic needs of a busy hotel environment. Must be fluent in the English Language both written and spoken.
