You will lead and oversee the building materials purchasing team, driving procurement excellence, supplier performance and cost-effective sourcing in alignment with company objectives. This role is accountable for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness with a strong focus on purchasing, inventory control and ERP systems. Your responsibilities will include maintaining optimal stock availability, managing inbound cost control and enhancing operational performance through structured procurement processes and oversight. You will strengthen system reliability, minimise operational risk and foster transparency and cross-functional collaboration across the organisation. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, adopting a strategic mindset while fostering open, collaborative communication across all teams. Oversee procurement to ensure timely, cost-effective purchasing and maintain optimal stock levels Build strong supplier relationships, manage rebate agreements and collaborate with business units on stocked ranges. Maintain and enhance ERP and procurement systems and streamline workflows Monitor purchasing budgets, cost trends and ensure value for money. Ensure adherence to procurement policies, manage customs and import processes and mitigate operational risks. Deliver insights on purchasing activity, supplier performance, ESG and spend analysis for management review. Work closely with sales, finance and operations to align planning and execution. Set objectives, review performance and support team development to drive continuous improvement. Requirements Skilled in data analysis, systems and root cause problem-solving. Build and refine structured workflows for efficiency. Ability to work cross-functionally with clear, effective communication. Understand cost control, contracts and ERP systems. Manage priorities, meet deadlines, and drive KPIs. Maintain transparency and fairness in all practices. Perform reliably under pressure and seeks continuous improvement.
