This role is integral to the business's procurement operations, with a clear focus on managing inbound costs, stock availability and overall operational performance. The successful candidate will lead a team of three and oversee the procurement function with a keen eye on storage optimisation and trend-based stock management. This is a Monday to Friday position, offering a structured work week and a collaborative, professional environment. Ideal for a procurement specialist with proven experience in supply chain operations, this opportunity places a strong emphasis on process improvement, supplier performance, and cost control. Candidates with exposure to Lean or Six Sigma methodologies will find this role particularly rewarding, with plenty of scope to influence continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day procurement operations and lead a team of three in the purchasing department Monitor and respond to storage capacity and stock movement trends to ensure optimal inventory levels Oversee inbound goods, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery aligned with operational needs Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms and evaluating performance Drive continuous improvement initiatives, with a focus on cost control and operational efficiencies Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategy with wider business goals Analyse purchasing data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement Support implementation of lean practices and participate in Six Sigma-style projects Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements Requirements: Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement management role, ideally within a supply chain or logistics setting Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a small team Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on clarity and influence Demonstrable knowledge of stock control principles and inbound logistics Experience with continuous improvement practices; Lean or Six Sigma exposure is a significant advantage High level of attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving Comfortable working with procurement software and analytics tools Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving operational environment What to do next: If youre interested in this role, click apply now.
