The Project:

The stakeholder and communications manager shall be responsible for supporting the project develop and deliver stakeholder management and communications processes throughout the lifecycle of the project. The role holder shall also support the update and development of the CRM strategy designed to ensure efficient, coordinated and transparent communications with project stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

1. You will promote Mace's value of Safety First, exhibiting visible safety behaviours, sharing lessons learned and using safety moments and Mace's HSW framework to support the safety and wellbeing of all Mace staff.
2. You will possess technical expertise in local Health and Safety rules and regulations relevant to project portfolio.
3. You will champion a diverse and inclusive working environment, and understand the importance of the wellbeing of the people in your team.
4. You will ensure quality systems are suitably managed in line with service excellence.
5. You will deliver and manage project plans from project inception/brief, through design development and planning, contractor procurement and construction phase in accordance with the overall delivery program and agreed project milestones.
6. You will manage tasks and associated deliverables in support of senior project managers and other leaders, alongside the wider project and client teams, to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of the project.
7. Support the stakeholder lead in developing the stakeholder management and communications requirements for the contractor(s) for the core contracts during the procurement process, and support in the evaluation of the submissions received.
8. Developing the communications requirements for the major infrastructure contracts during the procurement process and providing support in the evaluation of the submissions received.
9. Shall also oversee the project delivery partner in their stakeholder management of the internal and external stakeholders across the project.
10. Shall support the Stakeholder Lead in their reporting to the project board and senior governance levels on progress against the stakeholder management strategy and any material issues arising.
11. You will manage project budgets and highlight any risks, challenges and mitigations.
12. You will support the long term development of your function or Business Unit (BU), creating a sustainable business future.
13. You will commit to making a positive impact for our people, our clients, and our planet, and take ownership for holding others to account who do not uphold the Mace values.
14. You will manage design and wider consultant teams in a collaborative manner to ensure effective completion of responsibilities.
15. You will manage the project team and relevant stakeholders to achieve strategic project key performance indicators (KPIs).
16. You will actively network and seek understanding of best practice, utilising the full depth of knowledge of Mace group, the centres of excellence, Mace way control centre and knowledge hub.

Minimum Requirements:

1. 5+ years' experience in stakeholder and communications management, particularly in the development and delivery of CRM systems and a proven track record of conducting stakeholder and communications management activities in high value metro rail projects or projects of a similar scale/complexity.
2. Tangible experience of driving best practice in technical stakeholder and CRM activities, processes, policies and standards.
3. In-depth understanding of the design and delivery requirements of technically complex projects in the engineering/construction sectors.
4. Experience of dealing with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the organisation influencing the improvement of process and providing guidance to support project delivery and reporting.
5. Knowledge of quality management and process improvement practices and systems is desirable, preferably within the construction sector.

Additional Qualifications:

1. BA/BSC (public relations, business or other related field).
2. Ability to manage technical information management outputs to drive efficiency.
3. Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to govern and drive outcomes to ensure high quality service.
5. Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
6. Experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the rail sector.
7. Property or infrastructure project management expertise.
8. Experience of working on projects within large, diverse teams.
9. Experience of developing and forming relationships with other stakeholders within projects.
10. Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
