Job Description

The Data Operations Engineer plays a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines, storage solutions, and infrastructure to enable efficient data processing, analytics, and integrations.

Responsibilities include focusing on ETL/ELT workflows and data processing systems to ensure clean, structured, and accessible data for analytics, reporting, and product features. As an integral part of the R&D team, the engineer ensures that data is collected, stored, and processed in a way that meets the needs of the business and its customers.

The position requires participation in the maintenance and enhancement of mature legacy systems as well as development of new systems, products, and features. It involves being responsible for the performance, reliability, and scalability of the data infrastructure, ensuring that data is accurate, secure, and compliant with regulations and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong experience and enthusiasm for database design, data modeling, schema design, and data warehousing.
  • Experience and enthusiasm for data pipeline development & ETL/ELT processes.
  • Strong experience and enthusiasm for MySQL and PostgreSQL. MS SQL is a plus.
  • Experience with or willingness to master Perl.
  • You are self-driven and motivated with a desire to learn new skills and develop yourself and those around you.
  • You love to tweak complex queries for performance gains.
  • You are eager to learn mature systems and to own and be a good steward of legacy backend applications and technologies.
  • You are interested in AI and how it can be applied to solve real world use cases through data.
