Senior Quantity Surveyor Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Quantity Surveyor to join our team and play a key role in the delivery of high-quality residential projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing budgets, cost control, and commercial reporting, as well as excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage accurate cost estimates and budgets for residential developments.
- Oversee procurement processes, including tendering and contract negotiation.
- Monitor project costs and provide regular financial reports to senior management.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations, and variations.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
- Provide commercial input into project planning and risk management.
- Mentor junior QS staff and contribute to team development.
Requirements
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in a QS role, ideally within residential construction.
- Strong knowledge of Irish building regulations, contracts (e.g., RIAI, JCT), and procurement methods.
- Proven track record of managing budgets, cost control, and commercial reporting.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in relevant software (e.g., Excel, CostX, Buildsoft, or similar).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel to site as required.
