Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Electrical Substation Designer. The successful applicant will be appointed to this role and will be responsible for providing technical support during the construction and commissioning phases of projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical design, with experience working on High Voltage Substations. They will provide detailed Electrical designs, including Layouts, Schematics & Wiring schedules, and ensure that all designs comply with safety legislation.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to take their career to the next level. The successful candidate will work closely with designers in other disciplines, external contractors, and design teams to deliver projects efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Preliminary health and safety documentation and Design risk assessments.
  • Design and implementation of Electrical systems, including HV equipment and its operation.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure project deliverables meet commercial focus and quality standards.
  • Development and maintenance of technical knowledge and skills to stay up-to-date with industry developments.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years electrical experience or equivalent design work experience.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAE Systems such as MicroStation, AutoCAD or Similar.
  • General Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A Track record in Implementing standards, policies, and quality systems to ensure optimum designs.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate OR a suitable Level 7 or higher qualification in Electrical, Electrical Services, Electronics, Mechanical, building Services OR other suitable qualification with a sizeable electrical content.
