Electrical Design Specialist

We are seeking an Electrical Design Specialist to collaborate with engineering managers, leads, and peers in executing assigned tasks associated with electrical design of custom air handling equipment.

About the Role
  • You will work closely with the panel manufacturing department to create and develop bespoke electrical designs and drawings.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Review and interpret project specifications and drawings related to electrical aspects of air handling equipment including detailed compliance reviews.
  2. Create detailed power distribution schematics using CAD software to project specifications, customer requirements, and industry-based codes.
  3. Select and evaluate power distribution products for use in air handling equipment and create a bill of materials for applicable designs.
  4. Compile project submittal documentation including drawings, data, calculations, and product data specific to submitted equipment design.
Requirements
  • Educational background: Electrical engineering degree (BSc. Eng., B.Eng.) or Electrical Engineering Technical Diploma.
  • Experience: 3+ years experience in electrical design of HVAC equipment.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of industry-related controls and electrical products, applicable codes, and standards.
  • Skill: Proficient with drafting in AutoCAD, proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, ability to integrate new technologies into machines, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, self-starting, ability to manage multiple tasks on strict deadlines, commitment to continuous technical learning and personal development.
