Job Description

The role of a Deputy Stage Manager is pivotal to the success of every production. Working collaboratively within the stage management department, you will support performers, directors, designers, and production staff to ensure seamless execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain a positive work environment where every team member feels supported and empowered.
  • Ensure effective communication between creative, technical, and production teams through proactive coordination and planning.
  • Maintain accurate records during rehearsals, manage cues during performances, and serve as a central reference point for the production.
Candidate Attributes
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a show calling Stage Management role with a proven track record of problem-solving and leadership.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Stage Management process, including prompt book preparation and maintenance.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a proactive approach to meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks.
Requirements and Responsibilities
  • Preparation and upkeep of the prompt book, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate closely with the Company Stage Manager to guarantee a cohesive understanding of production requirements.
  • Contribute to the setup and organization of the rehearsal room, facilitating efficient rehearsals and productive workflow.

This role plays a vital part in the Abbey Theatre's mission to deliver exceptional productions.
