We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to lead our culinary team. This is a senior role that requires exceptional leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to mentor and develop a small/medium size kitchen team.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a busy Sous Chef role, with a proven track record of developing menus that meet ever-changing culinary trends. They must have a sharp eye for detail when it comes to food presentation and be confident in their ability to work with fish and meat to create varied menus. Baking skills, including working with pastry, are a distinct advantage.

The successful applicant will also have current HACCP certification and be actively implementing and working to the highest standards in relation to kitchen hygiene, food storage, record keeping and day-to-day application of standards. Leadership by example and excellent communication skills are essential, as they will be responsible for mentoring and leading a team of kitchen staff, including wash-up and kitchen assistant staff, and chef colleagues.

A key part of this role is working collaboratively with front-of-house colleagues to deliver high-quality, well-presented food in a fast-paced environment. Proven experience of managing kitchen teams and developing menus is essential.

This is a full-time position, and shifts will be rostered 5/7 to include daytime, evening and weekend hours. The successful applicant must be available to attend an in-person interview and provide references to support their academic and interpersonal skills.
