The role of the Clinical Nurse Manager 2 in Emergency Planning is pivotal in ensuring a hospital's preparedness and effective response to major incidents, mass casualty events, and internal incidents.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate the Major Emergency Plan and Internal Incident Plan in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
- Ensure seamless integration of clinical operational and logistical responses during emergency situations through close coordination and communication.
- Oversee staff training needs, simulation exercises, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain readiness.
- Provide strong clinical leadership to all staff involved in an emergency situation.
- Establish effective working relationships with departments and staff within the hospital.
- Professional Development:
- Assess and identify training and development needs for all staff at Beaumont Hospital.
- Contribute to the development of training programs and participate in in-service education.
- Represent Beaumont Hospital at local and national levels.
- Standards and Quality:
- Safeguard patient and staff welfare and safety by taking all necessary steps.
- Establish management and clinical standards with agreed action plans for all departments.
- E nsure hospital policies and procedures are known to and understood by all staff.
- Resource Management:
- Participate in budget planning and manage departmental and non-departmental resources.
- Pursue resource efficiency measures and Value for Money initiatives actively.
This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively under pressure. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong leadership qualities and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
