Mental Health Occupational Therapist Job

This role requires a skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to work with residents who have severe and enduring mental illness and complex needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing an Occupational Therapy caseload, while contributing to high-quality patient-centred care.

The team operates in a multidisciplinary environment, providing a spectrum of neuropsychiatric services to adults with complex and enduring mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high standards of Occupational Therapy care in line with local and national guidelines.
  • Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement interventions that meet the unique needs of each resident.
  • Collaborate with residents, families, carers, and colleagues to set goals and design tailored treatment programmes.
  • Participate actively as a member of the multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective communication and co-operation.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records of assessments, interventions, and related discussions.
Requirements:
  • CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist is essential.
  • A degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and statutory regulations within healthcare is necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team is crucial.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
