Chief Cybersecurity Protection Officer

The IT Security Specialist plays a pivotal role in safeguarding our digital presence by serving as the first line of defense against suspicious activity.
This role works closely with IT administrators and staff to configure and support security tools such as firewalls, anti-virus software, patch management systems, asset management systems, etc.
They will also help implement security policies, application security, access control, and corporate data safeguards.
Researching security threats and continuously evaluating our posture against their findings is a key aspect of this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborates with IT to create and implement incident response plans.
- Monitors operation of network security solutions and network traffic for unusual behavior.
- Ensures that proper security controls are present and functioning.
- Analyzes security requirements and recommends improvements to system configurations.
- Monitors network traffic for abnormal behavior.
- Develops security policies and defends against unauthorized access, modifications, and destruction of data.
- Consults with staff, managers, and executives about security best practices and provides technical advice.
