Electrical Protection Specialist Role

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Protection Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering protection solutions for various projects at different voltages. This will involve working closely with stakeholders to specify, design, and test protection devices.

You will develop multifunction application device configurations and applied standard protection and control schematic designs for distribution protection IEDs. Additionally, you will modify featured protection IED logic with user-defined programmable logic to achieve specified application performance.

In support of our strategic objectives, you will work on delivering services including specification, tender evaluation, design, and testing of protection and control devices. You will also provide technical expertise and knowledge to all stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • At least five years' experience in creating detailed designs in substation secondary systems or protection and/or control application engineering.
  • Experience in the development of protection IED specifications and the technical evaluation of tender submissions.
  • Level 8 qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • A strong work ethic, clear focus on delivery, safety, time, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Strong commercial and project management capability.
  • Flexible approach to work with a proven track record of success contributing to the training and development of technical professionals.
