
Community Fundraising Coordinator

The Community Fundraising Coordinator will play a key role in driving and delivering an ambitious community engagement and fundraising plan for our organization across the Republic of Ireland. This includes developing, implementing, and evaluating an annual Community Engagement and Events Fundraising Plan as part of our overall fundraising strategy.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering effective, exciting, and appropriate fundraising activities for community groups, schools, and colleges. They will also develop and drive our Schools Programme, ensuring the delivery of engaging and educational presentations to schools across regions, which effectively promote fundraising objectives and inspire support and contributions from stakeholders.
In addition, the Community Fundraising Coordinator will develop and implement a community volunteer programme, working with our Volunteer Department, to scale up our Schools Programme and community fundraising, with the objective of achieving a trained, supported, reliable volunteer base across regions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive community engagement and events fundraising plan.
- Planning and delivering effective fundraising activities for community groups, schools, and colleges.
- Developing and driving our Schools Programme, including delivering engaging and educational presentations to schools.
- Maintaining relationships with community fundraising networks (individuals & groups) and developing new key relationships in line with agreed objectives.
- Achieving agreed income targets within budget, optimizing return on investment and added-value for our organization.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A third-level degree in communications, business/marketing, liberal arts or another humanities subject.
- Minimum of two years' fundraising experience in the charity sector.
- Full driving license with use of a car desirable.
- Experience of fundraising in local communities desirable.
- Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels (internal and external).
- Advanced interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, motivate, and negotiate to achieve successful outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, including content creation for various communications channels.
- Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
- Experience of volunteer management or track record of working successfully with volunteer groups.
- Experience or strong understanding of sales/marketing strategies.
- Proven track record of successful event management.
- Understanding of digital fundraising events and strategies.
- Advanced MS Office Skills – including Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills, in addition to experience using a CRM system, ideally Salesforce.
- Strong budget management and record keeping skills.
- Proficient in the use of graphic design packages to create impactful and engaging marketing assets, e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite.
This role will involve some weekend and evening work. The above list is not exhaustive; additional areas of responsibility may be added over time and flexibility to cover for other staff roles is required from time to time.
