We are seeking an accomplished Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth and enhance our hotel's market presence.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in sales, hospitality, and business development, with excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
Key responsibilities include representing the hotel at industry events, building partnerships with local colleges and universities, and positioning our hotels as leading wedding venues.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining updated databases, sending out monthly ezines to clients, and providing support in other areas of the hotel group as required.
Responsibilities- Drive revenue growth through strategic targeting and attracting new business across multiple market segments.
- Represent the hotel at industry events and conferences.
- Build partnerships with local colleges and universities for conferences and events.
- Position the hotel as a leading wedding venue and achieve annual wedding targets.
- Maintain and update all company profiles and databases.
- Plan and organize weekly sales calls and schedule client appointments at least one week in advance.
- Compile weekly and monthly sales reports.
- Strategically target all market segments for business development.
- Plan and execute sales promotions, away sales trips, and mail shots.
- Ensure administrative tasks are completed, follow-ups, research calls, rate contracts.
- Communicate negotiated rates to reservations, front office, and accounts.
- Update corporate grid weekly and ensure adherence to credit procedures.
- Communicate client agreements with relevant departments.
- Monitor competitor activities and rates.
- Stay informed about hotel business activities and local events to optimize revenue strategies.
- Identify public relations opportunities to promote the hotel locally.
- Manage hotel websites content, photos, web pages.
- Organize supermarket promotions and host monthly guest evenings.
- Identify blackout dates and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Promote and sell the hotel's conference facilities to attract large conferences.
- Attend weekly sales marketing yield meetings and monthly group meetings, preparing and actioning reports.
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or hospitality.
- Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to strategically target and attract new business across multiple market segments.
- Knowledge of hotel sales processes, conference, and banqueting operations, and competitor analysis.
- Organizational skills to manage reports, client communication, and promotional campaigns.
- Flexibility to attend events, sales trips, and PR opportunities.
- Competence in managing websites, databases, and client communications.
