Job Title: Senior Yard Operative

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Yard Operative to join our team on a permanent basis.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading lorries using forklift equipment.
  • Monitoring goods in and goods out, ensuring accurate inventory levels.
  • Maintaining the yard's general upkeep, including maintenance tasks.
  • Monitoring stock levels and conducting regular checks to prevent stock shortages.
  • Operating machinery, including forklifts and other equipment.
  • Providing excellent customer service in the yard area.
  • Data inputting and record keeping, maintaining accurate records of transactions.
  • Ensuring timely and efficient delivery services to customers.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Possessing strong knowledge of DIY and construction supplies.
  • Forklift driving experience is highly advantageous.
  • A trailer license is an advantage.
  • Previous experience working in a construction supplies store is beneficial.
  • Able to work independently with strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Holding a diploma or degree in a relevant field (e.g., construction management, logistics).
  • Exhibiting excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to lift heavy loads and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
