We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the medical device sector.

Job Description

As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of precision mechanical components for electromechanical medical devices. You will work closely with senior engineers across R&D, manufacturing, and quality functions to deliver high-quality product solutions.

You will perform root cause analysis, problem-solving, and continuous improvement tasks within the product development process. Additionally, you will generate clear, accurate technical documentation in support of product design and regulatory compliance.

Your responsibilities will also include participating in cross-functional meetings and design reviews, contributing fresh ideas and detailed technical insights. You will conduct mechanical testing, analysis, and data interpretation using relevant engineering tools and software.

Furthermore, you will assist in the development and maintenance of the Design History File (DHF) and associated risk management activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Level 8 degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline, graduated within the last 12 months.
  • Proven academic excellence — consistently ranked in the top 10–15% of your year group.
  • Strong grasp of mechanical design principles, materials science, and CAD software (SolidWorks or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and experience with analytical tools (e.g., FEA, Minitab) an advantage.
