About the Role

This role plays a pivotal part in supporting the academic community by providing tailored library services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with the Faculty of Engineering to develop innovative solutions that meet their teaching, learning and research needs;
  • Enhancing the Library's role in supporting teaching, learning and research activities across the university;
  • Developing and delivering training programs to promote information literacy and critical thinking skills;
  • Collaborating with academic staff to design and implement curriculum-integrated information literacy initiatives;
  • Maintaining and developing the Library's collections, including print and online resources, to support the academic programs of the university;

The successful candidate will be located in the Library on the Carlow campus and will report directly to the Head of Library and Information Services. This is a full-time position requiring 35 hours per week, with flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances. Evening work during the academic year and occasional Saturday work may be required, as well as travel to all campuses and Faculty of Lifelong Learning centres.
