Job Title: Civil Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

Description:

We are a leading engineering services company with a proven track record of high quality, customer focused project delivery. Our core divisions include Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Sprinkler and Fire Protection. Some of the other services we provide include Renewable Energy Infrastructure, Waste to Energy (BioEnergy), Specialist Lift, Off Site Fabrication, Technical Support Services, Maintenance, Asset Management, BIM (Building Information Modelling) and Geo-Surveying.

The role will provide civil estimating and quantity surveying support across all phases of project delivery from tender through to final account agreement, ensuring commercial control throughout. Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in civil tendering for large-scale projects, from initial inquiry through to submission.
  • Assembling and evaluating subcontractor quotations, ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Completing accurate take-offs from tender drawings.
  • Liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders throughout the tender process.
  • Attending pre- and post-tender interviews and client meetings as required.
  • Advising senior management on bid prospects and tender strategies.

Requirements:

  • A relevant third level qualification in Quantity Surveying/Construction Economics or a relevant Civil Engineering discipline is essential.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience post qualification is required.
  • Previous civil estimating and quantity surveyor experience is necessary.
  • Experience in High Voltage Substations, Transmission & Distribution projects or any Utility projects is an advantage.
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a multi-functional team is required.
  • Excellent IT skills are essential.
  • Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
