Desktop Support Engineers play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of desktop systems and applications. In this capacity, you will be responsible for providing primary support to trading teams in Dublin, working closely with software development teams and system architects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing first- and second-level support using tools such as SCCM, Jira, Confluence, Splunk, Check_MK, and Wireshark
  • Managing, addressing, and solving complex queries via ticketing systems
  • Continuous evaluation and improvement of support procedures and implementation of required/agreed tools and associated runtime environments
  • Interacting with internal IT support functions to troubleshoot and resolve problems
  • Liaising with technology teams in the US and/or external vendors as required
  • Maintaining a knowledge base and ensuring all relevant run books are up-to-date

Required skills and qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in providing desktop support for software and hardware systems
  • A strong working knowledge of peripherals, printers, graphics cards, and hardware components
  • Experience with trading user support is beneficial
  • Excellent working knowledge of Windows desktop OS (Win 10 64-bit, Win 11)
  • Ability to monitor and diagnose desktop issues and make changes to the system registry
  • PowerShell scripting and experience working with SCCM are advantageous
  • Advanced knowledge of O365 products, particularly MS Excel, and strong knowledge of Active Directory
  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
