Job Overview

The Project Director will be responsible for leading and overseeing projects at a large engineering firm. This role involves managing all aspects of project execution, including planning, resource allocation, and ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Execution:
    • Create comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resources, and deliverables.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project goals with business objectives.
    • Manage project scope, change requests, and ensure all project requirements are met.
    • Monitor progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Budget and Resource Management:
    • Develop and maintain the project budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient use of resources.
    • Identify and allocate appropriate resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) to ensure timely project completion.
    • Coordinate with department leads to secure technical, operational, and engineering resources as required.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth project execution.
    • Lead regular project meetings, including Tier Communication sessions, to discuss progress, challenges, and next steps.
    • Facilitate effective communication between internal and external stakeholders, ensuring everyone is aligned with project objectives.
  • Risk and Issue Management:
    • Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
    • Manage issues as they arise, ensuring prompt resolution to minimize project delays.
    • Escalate critical risks to senior management and recommend solutions.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Ensure all project deliverables meet quality standards and safety regulations.
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to quality, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare and present detailed project reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics, milestones, and risks.
    • Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including plans, reports, and communication logs.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and motivate the project team to meet project objectives and timelines.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Provide coaching and support to team members to enhance performance and professional growth.
